I'm quite a fan of the two main characters, so I'll be fair here. Anyway, the plot was ok. There's this guy named Sam who lives in New York, and he's very poor and gets in the middle of a big robbery, and he's trying to save the last of his money, so he runs away and takes a train and leaves everything behind. Well, when he gets there he finds out that the man he helped robbed a drug store, but they don't even remember him. So then Sam's life goes haywire, so he starts off in the life of a criminal for survival, and it takes him to Mexico. I got some weird ideas about Mexico. The people look more Mexican than American, and I thought they all smoked joints and drank beer. The bad thing was that I was watching this with my dad, and he was bored. He said, "Sam looked like a moron, he should be smarter than that." Oh well.
The ending of the film was quite good. The guy he meets in Mexico is crazy, so he's a bit of a mental case, and they start planning some more crimes. Sam gets very sick from some food poisoning, but he's not gonna stay like this, so he gets the idea to take some of the money, and he steals the money and leaves with it. As they're walking in the desert with the money, the guy Sam met (whose name was Jim, if I remember correctly), was murdered by some goons. So then Sam and his friend Jim end up in this jail and they have to survive in this terrible situation for a while. But as Jim said, they need money for drugs and stuff. So they set out to rob a bank (and kill the bank teller), and when they get there they're very lucky because one of the guards comes after them with a gun, and they knock him down. Jim kicks the gun away, and Sam picks it up. But he shoots the guy, and they run, and get lost in the desert and Jim dies. But then they end up getting some water. |
