Hi all, I like to watch different movies that I can think and reflect on. Take, for example, the movie Smart People from 2008. It's a sad story of people whose lives are a succession of unnecessary books, burdensome terminology, and useless information. You can learn abstruse words, use them for business and unnecessarily, you can improve your self-esteem at the expense of others, but, hiding behind piles of textbooks, you risk not seeing the most important thing, you risk getting the title of a boring pompous misanthrope, not capable of anything more than quoting other people's thoughts. The main characters in Noam Murro's picture, who get the highest grades in English literature but know nothing about life, find themselves in such a dead end. |
