Ry Russo-Young is an amazing director. All of her films are so well-directed, well-written, and well-performed, even when they are technically flawed. That flaw is in my book a sign of great artistry because her flaws are almost always strengths. I saw her second feature about three years ago and loved it. It was a beautiful and moving little indie film that had two great performances and was very well-directed. I still remember many details from her movies. So of course, I had high expectations for her next film. |
