Actually everything is allowed in the cinema. Actually. Even so, each genre has its own implicit rules that filmmakers usually just stick to or, at best, play with. As interesting as the results may be at times, the appeal is great to stretch or even exceed the limits to the extreme. In this sense, the new film by Oskar Roehler, “Lulu and Jimi”, could be described as an experimental love drama with comedic elements. What sounds totally impossible and crazy works astonishingly well in practice and is one thing above all: incredibly entertaining!
