Open to new players?

I wanted to try this game out, but all I get when I try to play is server unreachable. Same thing for three days.
I'm on android 4.2 and installed it directly from the play store. There was a news post just the other day, so it seems like the game still exists. Most others for my tablet have either updated and don't support my version or have shutdown. I would really like to play this game if possible. Does anyone have any experience with this issue?

You’re not alone. This usually happens when the servers are no longer supporting older Android versions. Android 4.2 is quite outdated, so even if the app is still available on Google Play, the backend servers may have already dropped compatibility.

Has anyone here been able to connect recently using an older Android device, or can confirm the minimum Android version that still works?
